arrogant drivers
I do not know what it is like where you guys are, but in Lloydminster Alberta, there are only a handful of Vettes around. There has only been 1 couple in a 03 vert that has been nice. They pulled up beside us, rolled down the window, exchanged nice words, and carried on after, smiling chatting and generally being wonderful.
The rest, albeit younger, have been total *********. There is one kid in a beat up yellow z06 that cant be bothered to wave, just sneers and looks away, his teenage bizatch of a passenger thinks she is Paris Hilton and looks down her nose at us. The rest barely look over.
I know I am new to the whole vette scene, but when guys in Edmonton in ferrari's give me a thinbs up, and all the vettes on the road have nice drivers, why is it the closest city to my home town has such arseholes driving?
The same old sh1tty blue stingray, the z, the black coupe, I see them all the time, and they have never waved.
I guess the wave is dead here.
Oh well, maybe it is time to stop waving in Lloydminster, save them for fellow rice rocket riders when I am on the Busa.

Just yesterday i noticed lots of vette owners will not wave , i quess its a new breed out there , im driving vetts now since 1972 and never been out of one so i see the diffrence now .SCREW EM.

Arent we taking this "wave thing" a bit too far? Its nice when you acknowledge someone else in a Corvette and get a return acknowledgement but to resort to name-calling and chastising IMHO is juvenile.

It's the people, not the car, who engender friendliness ... thought we'd cornered the market on rude ... sounds like maybe you have some US ex-pats up there.

Well i def met the type you guys are talking about... My neighbors brother in law drives up in a brand new vette so i go over to chit chat and maybe introduce him to the corvette forum. Not only was he condescending that i was over there congratulating him but he told me vette clubs and forums were for old people and ditto for car shows and it was just a freaking car and didnt want to talk cars at all with me and proceeded to walked away.
I mean if his skin was green he would have been the Corvette Grinch
. Here is the kicker i see him in a different corvette every 3 or 4 months all brand new all convertibles just different colors... you would think someone like this would have a major love for vettes. I would bet my bottom dollar that he wont wave to me when i get mine...

Some Vette drivers don't know about the wave,
Some Vette drivers know about the wave, think it's silly, and don't want to wave
Some Vette drivers are miserable bastards and would be miserable bastards regardless of the car they drive.
I usually get return waves, but I've waved to a few who haven't returned the wave. If they wave back...great. If not...who cares?
No way I'd let something so trivial as a wave bug me.
