C6 to be released in may
I talked to the GM guys at a corvette show this weekend in chicago, and they said the 50th anv. C6 car will be relased this may. You can order them now and Texas is the first state you can get them in.

Sure, you can order them now. You'll take delivery whenever they damn well feel like it. Got a production number with that order? Yeah, I didn't think so.

Oh ok, sinc i talked to my dealer about it this morning too and he also confirmed it, i highly doubt he was lieing.

My local dealer told me that only 14 Yellow Z06s were being produced in 2001. ;) Yeah... maybe in a DAY.

Are you sure he doesn't mean the C5 50th anv. car? The C6 is a long ways from production.

Scorp must be new to this message board. So everybody go easy on the guy. Labor Day 50th Anniv. C-5
will be shown. I don't even think GM knows exactly when the C6 will debut with the changes taking place.
However, I doubt it will be Texas that the C6 will debut, perhaps Detroit and LA like the C5 did.

The NCM is sponsoring a Historic Motorama, one Corvette from each model year up to 2002 driving from Flint to Bowling Green. The motorama is leaving Flint June 23, 2002 and arriving Bowling Green June 27th, kicking off a weekend bash. The 50th anniversary edition will join the motorama a few miles outside of Bowling Green. This event will kick of a years worth of events to celebrate the 50th.

From what I've read, the closest we'll get to a C6 next year will maybe & I stress maybe...be a C6 engine in the 50th Anniversary C5.

the 50th anneversary corvette will be unveiled in june 28th, 2002, during the 50th anniversary event in bowling green. there will be some sort of a caravan from flint michigan to bowling green, and will include one of every year corvette from '53 to '02. somewhere around the final mile, the 50th edition will join the caravan in route to the plant/NCM for the kickoff of the 50th anniversary celebration. unless gm is going to merge '03 production with '02, or gm is going to do an early release of the 50th, nobody is getting one early, let alone someone from texas. my best guess is production will start as normal, around the end of june, and delivery will start late august/early september. BTW, if anyone is interested in going to the 50th event, book rooms now. i booked a block of 16 rooms in bowling green months ago - :cheers:
