What is the best brand of gas to use?

I try to use Shell & most of the time I have. However, I have, on necessary occasions, used Sunoco 93, plus Exxon, plus Hess when nothing else was available. " Forgive me Father, for I have sinned. "

Glad to hear no problems.
My dad worked for Shell Oil in the 60's as an accountant for many years. He used to disburse checks for claims in the Bay Area in CA related to Shell gas to end users/consumers. He thought it was a fluke..until (since he got a Shell employee discount) he burned a hole in the top of his cylindar head in a 65 Malibu, just like his claimaints.
I figured..it was longgg ago..so I figured Shell was as good as anyone else's since they all comply with minimum US standards but being cheap..I used other brands of fuel. The one time I did use it on my 69 Camaro w/stock 327...it pinged..like a mother. Circa 1992.
Needless to say...we DON"T use Shell to this day....and only Chevron..in the vette
Since a large portion of the brains of Chevron...resides in the Bay Area..ie. Concord..and San Ramon..I figured I can't go all wrong...

Ok, let me get this straight. We get so proud of ourselves for buying American and then put fricking Chevron gas in it and send your hard earned money to the physco that is in control of Chevron and Venezuela so he can promote himself and his socialist government? No way! My Vette will never have a drop of Chevron in the tank!

you all know that most gas comes from a local refinary regardless of brand? The only difference is the additive package they put in. You guys do know that right? Buy the cheapest 91( we only get 93 here ) that does not ping and do the techron bit once in awhile.

Over the last 51 years, I've used whatever is convienent, and if there's a choice, then the lowest price. Never a problem with any vehicle, even the Vets. I try to use 92+ octane in my new Vet. Tried 89, in an emergency with a fille-up: noticed a 1mpg drop but no pings. I believe this "top tier" thing is all advertising hype. I will continue this method for the next 51 years. No comments please.
