Default Hole in Diff. Casting

I found a small hole in my diff just above the fill plug. The picture is blurry but you can see where it is. It's the dark spot just above the fill plug. What is this? Cracked case? Breather hole?

Bubble in the casting? Does it go very deep?

Ok, I figured out what it is. Below the fill plug you can see a where a bolt hole comes through the casting. The hole at the top is another "bolt hole" that was drilled too deep, or drilled to close to the casting and it broke where it was drilled. Might have happened when it was tapped.

I changed my diff fluid and don't ever remember seeing that(and I would have). It might have just been hanging on by a thread and just broke loose. I don't see where any fluid has come out of it, but that doesn't really mean anything because the only time it would come out from that spot is at speed. Think it's a problem?
