Isn't Sirius and XM basically the same now that they are the same company. 60's, 70's music etc are they not the same stations.

XM & Sirius merged a few years ago.
They are one in the same company.

They may be the same company but if you try switching your Sirius account to your Corvette like I did you have to cancel the Sirius account and then have then set up a XM account.

Also the mid range Sirius product has more channels than the XM mid range so to get the same channels I had to go to the premium XM product.

Not real happy with them.

I have XM, and would like to switch over to sirius if:

1) the sound is indeed better, which by all accounts it is (check)

2) If I can get the same pricing for premier sirius as I now have for XM
(I need the PGA tour channel)

Has anyone changed from SM to Sirius and get the same price point?

Thanks

They may be the same company; however they are not the same.

I find XM harder to deal with, more expensive for less selection and has poor reception.

I get a lot better deal with Sirius than I do XM, lots cheaper. The people that work for Sirius seems to be much nicer and easier to work with, I don't have to fight with them or threaten to leave to get the deal I want. I just state the package I have had for the last several years, tell them I want to stick with that and they tell me they can do that for me. SE Missouri, XM constantly fades in and out, doesn't matter if I am in the vette or the wife's Rav4 same crappy reception. My unit has shipped should be here mid week, can't wait, bye bye XM!

Sorry to bring this back from the dead but I'm looking to improve the quality of the Satellite radio on my C6 Corvette.

I have upgraded speakers but the XM radio quality is very poor. It sounds like I'm listening to music under water, where as the CD and even the FM has much better quality.

I know the difference between them all in terms of how they should sound. In other vehicles I've owned and in friends cars the XM and especially sirius radio has much better sound quality.

Would this be something I should look into if I want to improve the sound quality or is the antenna a limiting factor?

Lastly where is the best place to purchase the sirius unit for a fair price?

Default Opening your files

For some reason, I can't open any attachments on the site. I would like to see her pictures of the install but can't. Any ideas, why I can't open the files. Thanks!

Maybe because this thread is 7 years old and they are long gone.
