Default 07 Coupe electrical burning smell

Need help please! I just started smelling an electrical or rubber type burning smell yesterday and it's pretty strong.

Symptoms: it seems like when the heater/ac is on, but you can smell it somewhat under the hood and also when walking around the car. But it also smells out of the vents as well.

I guess this is one of those things that you have to wait until something quits before you fix it. Hopefully it won't be my car burning up.

07 Coupe, 9000 miles, auto, z51, nav, 3lt

Any suggestions?

One of the first things I would do is look under the car for plastic bags, etc, that may have melted to the exhaust. I've had it happen to me.

Default Magic!!!!!!!!!!

I love this forum...thanks guys, that's exactly what it was a plastic bag around the exhaust just under the center console.

There ain't no gettin that off either it's hard as a rock now. I think the threat of fire is gone so do I just let it go?

Yup. Driving really fast gets the exhaust hotter and it will be gone sooner.
