I am 29 y/o and have always said I would have my own Corvette. My father has always had one throughout my life and was always generous with letting my drive it, but it was not mine. Well, I finally got MINE on April 29th, and love it!
I'm too lazy to read through all the posts, but did anybody else notice that if your age ends in a 5 (25, 35,...) it appears you could post in either of two catagories.
I guess the one you choose depends on weather you feel young or old at heart
I couldn't afford a car but after spending 13 months in the jungle for uncle sam, I came back and paid cash for a '69 Dodge Charger. Still had time to serve so it was all good. Yeah, RA also.
I spent my time in the Big Ft. Bragg, that's what we called that place in southeast Asia, and we called Fayetteville, N.C. Fayette-Nam. I was stationed in Little Ft. Bragg twice, once before and once after going to the Big Ft. Bragg. I trained in a place they call the JFKSWC. Well, when I was in the Big Ft. Bragg I saved enough cash for a used 1965 Sting Ray convertible that was selling about $3000, but my dad talked me out of it and I ended up with a brand new 1967 Pontiac LeMans that in a short time later I swapped the 326 for a '67 GTO 6.5L 400 cu in engine. It became a sleeper. I paid $2745 plus tax for the LeMans, what a deal! There were a lot of sleepers back then. By the way, "Welcome home, brother!"
"59" Got my first Vette when I was 18. Sold my last one when I was 24 in 1973. Last year, after 34 yrs. I bought a 2007 C6 LMB coupe. Life is good, again.
I might be an old fart, but it sure is nice to see how many under (especially under 20) 25 year olds are into Corvetts and can get one!
Back in the mid 60's when I was a fry, my dream car was a 427 Shelby Cobra, never got one but certainly got into Muscle cars till Uncle Sam needed me in Nam.....
Good..I used the last ones I stole from your trunk to wash my wheels
Whew!!! When I saw that dirty depend in your trunk at the bash, I was worried. I thought that you may have had an accident on the way.
Now that I know it was Radar's, I understand. We all know that he wears them because of the "crunch crunch" sound that comes from his pants when he walks.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
