I am wanting to get a set of jacking pucks for my 2008 Convertible. In searching the forum I see a reference to a set of BMW pucks that are round for use on C5's, but when I go to Bavarian Autosports website they show a rectangular puck with C6 in the part number and have C5 in the part number for the round ones. In calling them I was not able to get clear information as to the rectangular ones being correct to use. Has anyone used either set, and if so which would be the correct ones to order.
These are the two pucks I was looking at. My specific question is which works best with the C6. They have the rounds ones listed for C5s and the rectangular ones for C6s. I just want to be sure I get the correct kind and don't have to send them back for the other ones. Their customer assistance could not confirm which should be used, so I am looking for feedback on which ones owners have put on their C6s.

Regards,
Either the round or rectangular BMW pucks can be used on a C6. I use the round pucks, but others prefer the rectangular because they are larger and offer a bit more protection.
Whichever you decide on, the information listed above can be used for ordering for your C6.
Here are a couple of threads which you may find useful:
I have both sets. I keep the round ones on AT ALL TIMES. The rectangular ones are too tall for my tastes, and my hydrolic jack does not fit under them. The round ones are perfect, and you don't have to take them off (although you can easily if you want to.) The rectangular ones take a little more doing when taking the off unless you take the middle pin out, or modify them by placing a screw that you can grab on to to pull the pin.
im like the beaver. made mine for about $12, it was cheaper to buy a dozen hockey pucks from Dicks than 4 individual ones. DOnt ask me why. i just live here... BUt they work great.

I'm sure its simple, but how about a sketch. Or is it just a 1/2" bolt through the middle or one to fit your jack center hole?

Thanks, this is the feedback I was looking for. From this information it looks like the round design is what I would want to go with. I would like to have them on the vehicle at all times rather than having to put them in every time I want to lift the vehicle. Additionally the shorter height is beneficial as I am already going to have to drive the Corvette up on boards on the floor to lift with my Rotary two post lift as there is not enough clearance to get the arms under the car, and the thicker ones would make this even more difficult. I agree that using hockey pucks would work, but they would be thicker than the option of the round pucks made for BMWs. Thanks to all for your input.

I've had the round ones on my '05 for the past 3 years & have never lost them.....
There are many decent jacking pucks...even the home made hockey pucks work. I use the rectangular BMW ones and I think they were about $24.00.
Following someone's suggestion...I partially drilled-out the center pins and then sunk small, brass screws into the pins (leaving the screw heads sticking-out a way). This makes it much easier to remove them.
Also, if you get the BMW jacking pucks...do not leave them installed 24/7. Put them in when you need them and remove them when you're done. They stow-away easily in the rear storage cubby.

I paid $25 for a stupid puck from Ecklers and could have gotten one for $3 + 50 cents for 2 large "eye bolts" The puck is better because it covers more surface area and its semi soft.
(place one eye bolt on the top center and one on the bottom to prevent slipping, this simulates the jacking puck)

I've owned two BMWs that use the round jack pads, and they are meant to be left on the car fulltime. In fact, when I lost one of them one time, I heard a whistling noise that went away when I replaced the missing pad.
What's your concern? Fit not tight enough to keep them on the car?
I bought the round ones for $6.95 ea. (Now that's reasonable...If Chevrolet sold them they would have been $20 each). I leave them in all the time and made a mating piece for my jack so it can't slip off or move around. They work great!

I probably should have but I have never even put the eye bolt in...never had a problem....I am not saying you should not do this but the hockey puck really works great and you cant beat the price. I bought a box of them for next to nothing at the local rink and gave many of them to friends and when I misplace one.....who cares I just go to the box and pull out another one.
