hi,

does anyone know of anywhere i can get a digital copy of the service manual or the shop manual for a 2008 corvette C6 and Z06, on DVD ?

preferably with an easy to use interface and part numbers that are searchable if possible?

sort of like the "Helms Service Manual" that Gene Culley offers, but in digital form and searchable

i have seen a similar item for the corvette C5, the "GM eSi Techline Factory Service DVD" and i'm looking the something maybe a bit more comprehensive or similar for the 2008 corvettes

You might even be better of subscribing to to one of these types of repair information services. You also get TSB's and other stuff that you don't get in a repair manual. It's actually cheaper than the electronic repair manual and remains up to date.

The link referred to a Helm's CD version for a 2007 Vette. Not only is the product pricey at $400.00 but it says its for Windows 98 SE. I would imagine it's compatible with Windows XP or Vista but it doesn't say so...it may not be. You think they would have updated that.

You cannot copy the disc nor can you image it to sit resident on your hard drive. You MUST insert the disc into a DVD player to execute access to the information. A little program called Safedisk has the darn thing locked tighter than a virgin's chastity belt.

It is great though as it allows you to see the "Helms" on the above list.

Well, how? I had techs banging on it but couldn't get past the latest version safedisc 4.85.00 I've been trying to drop the DVD as an ISO on to the PC so I didn't have to keep loading the dumb disc and we can't get around it. I can't even do a disk copy so I could have one for the laptop and 1 for the desktop.

I have the GM eSi Techline Factory Service DVD up to 2005. I originally installed it on a XP laptop machine but took it off when I sold the machine. I recently tried to reinstall the program but I am having a time getting installed correctly. I cannot find the install instructions and the install had to be done in a certain order Does anyone have them? Help! B

Just use alcohol 120%, it will rip that version of safedisk. Of course this will be for your own personal use, distributing a copy of the ISO would be illegal.

Several months ago I was able to buy the printed 2009 Corvette Service Manual from Fichtners. It's too bulky to carry in the car on trips, about like 4 fairly thick phone books. But MUCH more convenient than scrolling through a computer.
