Default Corsa Question

Does anyone have the new EXTREME Corsa on their C6, and is there any drone or resonation in the cockpit. I had a Corsa Indy on my C5 and loved it. I would like to put the Extreme on my new C6, but would like to hear from someone with it first! Thanks.

I rode in a guys Manual Trans C6 with extremes on it and i thought there was a little too much drone at steady speeds for me, but they do sound nice. I decided on ordering the NPP on my car and am very happy with that

There is a little more drone than on my other C5 Corsas, but the sound is the best. Much like having headersbut more of a deep sound than raspy.

I have the Extremes with MN6. There is some drone while cruising but its not bad. A lot of burble and pop on even the slightest let up on the gas pedal. It sounds good but its loud and can get annoying sometimes. After a while you can learn how to control the burble to some extent. I absolutely love the sound when I start it up in the morning and its awesome at WOT!

Thanks, guys. It's either Sport or exteme, and it sounds like 50/50!

Default Extremes

I recently purchased my 07 - Z06 with Extreme's already installed. I've owned a manual C5 with Corsa Indy's on it also. The Extreme's have a musch deeper tone. I was a little uncertain about the burble when letting off, but my wife loves it. She has NPP on her 08 from the factory and had considered changing out to the Extreme's. I talked her out of it. The NPP's were a choise at the time she made, not changing them now.
I'm told by the people the ride behind my in the club that the sound it something to behold, especially when I have my foot in it. The burble they say reminds them of being at the track just before the tight corner.
The resonance is quite minimal. I know what bad resonance sounds like. I had a new set of B&B on my C5 stick and took them back off, it was that bad.
To put it in short words, I would buy them again. Meaning, if I sold my Z and upgraded to an 09, I would purchase the Extreme's for it with out hesitation.
With all that said, it is personal taste. Before spending upwards of 1k it would benifit the person to ride in and have someone drive by with Extreme's and see if the amount of music floats your boat.

So is the sport supposed to be some where between the extreme and the touring? Does the sport less burble and drone than the extreme?

Yes the Sport is in the middle of the Touring and the Extreme. I had the Sport on my C6 before I installed the Extreme. There is more burble with the Extreme than the Sport, but I like the burble. It's all a matter of opinion.

The Corsa Sport is very mild under light throttle, but step on the gas and it gets very loud, especially with headers. They have no drone at all. The Corsa Touring is a Sport with a set of resonator style mufflers in the X pipe. You can buy the Sport and then if it is too loud add the Touring kit.

I just bought an 08 C6 MN6 without the NPP package and am interested in upgrading. Does putting an after market exhaust system on the car void your warranty? Also, not mechanically inclined, any suggestions on who I should go to for installation?

I love my Xtremes! They are loud as all get out. I love the loudness and the burble when I take my foot off the gas. Absolutely the best purchase I made for my Vette. When you get used to them, you can actually make them "talk" (meaning you can make them as loud or as semi-quiet as you want). I occasionally say hello (what, that wasn't me!) to LEOs with my Xtremes as I pass them by, and if you want to show someone your pleasure or displeasure with them, you can do that too, and I do believe they understand

Very little drone that to me is unnoticeable but there is a lot of burble and pop which I like. No regrets here. Only down side to them IMO is the size of the tips! I wish they were 4" tips. Maybe the guys at Corsa can do something about that?

Very little drone if any at highway speeds. Lot of burble and pop when letting off the gas. It took some getting used to for me, but my girl loves it!

catback exhaust will not void your warranty. most muffler shops can easily put one on; regular repair shops can, too.

How did you put extremes on your C6z06? They only make touring & sport for the Z. If they had a 3" extreme system I would put them on my Z.

Awesome post! It made me laugh. I also have Xtremes on my 06 A6 vert, as does my son on his 07 MN6 coupe. Great exhaust! Dan
