Ok I've had my C6 for a month now and the following interior parts look cheap to me:
- steering wheel, not necessarily the leather wrapped portion but the hard plasticky center
- A6 shift boot and e-brake boot, I don't think this is leather
- console cover - I'm going to buy a leather padded one soon
- hard plastic panels which are right down by the door sills, they tend to shift if you put any weight on them (I use mine sometimes to get out of the car) and there is an unsightly seem
And my door panels seem to get dirty looking very quickly. They are kind of sticky, like a brand new basketball.
You see why there are so many mod possibilities for our cars. Yes, they are a Chevrolet and there is a lot of plastic and vinyl. You did not pay for a Porsche. You can eliminate much of what is bothering you with so modest priced mods. I have replaced steering wheel, shift boot, e-brake boot, shift ****, e-brake handle, console top and door panels all from DSV. He does great work and presto your car looks completely different. You can also do the console in many different ways. Have fun and get the fever..mod fever.
Tell me of another car that does 0-60 in under 5 seconds, a top speed of 190 and looks epic for about $46k?
You get what you pay for mate. If you want carbon fiber this and leather that, then drop $126,000 for a Porsche 911 Turbo, or do what lsbrodsky suggested and just mod your cars interior.
Since the car outperforms cars in its class that cost twice as much as the Corvette, obviously something needed to be sacrificed. The interior while fully functional is not adorned in leather, wood and carbon fiber out of the box. Partly to save weight, partly to save cost. If those things are important to you then there are several aftermarket products that will more than take care of the deficit.

You did look at the car before making the purchase decision, didn't you. If so, why the angst now?
Yes, all the statements above are true. I just don't understand these comments though..if you want luxury there are plenty of options with amazing interiors. Getting a car with all the luxury that runs the quarter in the mid 12's and handles like a dream under $50,000..good luck.

For the Cost of a Vette and the proformance I'm Ok with it
I see nothing wrong with my interior, if I wanted a Cadillac I would have bought one, Corvette is a Chevy----like a rock!!!!! Trade it in if your unhappy..
I don't have any complaints about the interior quality of the C6. Could it be better...sure, but there's nothing so negative it adversely affects my enjoyment of the car (or compels me to make interior changes). If having a 'plush' interior was important to me, I would have bought something else. I had other reasons for buying the C6.
I would agree that the interior is cheap, but the material does not bother me. My problem is with all of the rattles, creaks, and pops that occur from various panels in my car.
Currently I have issues with the pillar next to the drivers seat, the drivers door, the roof, and under the dash. All of that is making some sort of noise that it shouldnt be.
I will be 100% satisfied with this car if I take it into the dealer and they fix it all (going in next friday)
If they dont then this will be the first and last corvette I own because I can't stand how much noise it makes in normal driving conditions.
The do, of course, offer a full leather interior as an option to address the complaints like this one. I give them credit for that. Honestly though, I really don't think the stock interior is that bad.

I respectfully disagree..............calling the 4LT a full leather interior is farther than I'm willing to stretch it. Same crappy leather as base, just more of it.
Your best bet is to get in touch with Down South Vettes(forum vendor),his interiors are second to none.
I actually like the interior, basic yes..but it's a sports car and I'm too engrossed in the looks of the car as opposed to the inside. When inside, I'm too engrossed in putting her through her paces to worry about the comfort.......actually the seats are terrific and I spend zero time looking at the dash.....just the hud and my V1
