Default Another NAV Question

I had the NAV running yesterday while my wife and I were out running some Florida back roads up around Titusville. I kept getting a road name that was correct, but no indication of a road on the display - just the pip showing where we were. Am I doing something wrong with my map display settings or are the lines for the roads just missing? I thought a road should have been displayed since the name of the road we were on was displayed. This happened on more than one road.

You may have to zoom in a bit. I've had this happen when I've zoomed out too far. The NAV will display major roads, but omits the smaller ones.

Same here....if you are zoomed out too far, the map will not show the road that you are on...but the unit still says the right road name. Zoom in and it will show the road...

I experience the same thing. If my memory serves me correctly, I have to zoom to 1/4 mile or less to get the typical residental streets in my neighborhood to show.

I agree with the above posts. To me, this is a design flaw in the nav system. I fully understand not showing smaller roads when 'zoomed out' to reduce clutter on the screen. However, it seems the nav should show a smaller road when it is the road on which you are traveling.

I zoomed down to 1/4 mile but still no street. It would not zoom in further and I did not know if it had the capability to zoom further in. Is there a trick to it, or do you just push the button one more time? It didn't work for me.

Mine goes down to an 1/8 then 1/16. But, there are still roads I've traveled that don't show up, even with this detail. Guess you can't expect a CD to have everything.

OK, I've got to go out and test it. I don't recall mine ever going down to 1/16.

All nav systems that I have been involved in development of switch over to displaying only major roads when in any zoom level above 1/8 mile. I see this same manner of display in the nav system in the C6 system. I believe you can zoom down to a level of 1/32 or 1/64 mile scale on the system in the C6.
