The '09 CTS-V w/550hp looks sick but it's out of my price range. $40K is about my limit.

Probably what I'll end up doing if I don't get a C6....which is really what I want....

Guess we could just use her car for the dog outings and the C6 for our Sunday drives w/out them.....

For 40K I'd look into a Charger SRT-8 or G8 GXP.

Both cars are big, fast, and look sporty for a sedan.

Caddy STS Supercharged. 0-60 4.6 I think. And plenty of room.

it's the dalmation that would be really cramped.....she's tall too. Bichon would be no problem.

I may wait for the G8 GXP later this year.....that might be the ticket w/402HP and mid 30s price tag....no Vette but not too shabby either...

Nothing else I really want......and I'm sort of scared of used Benz and BMW repair costs when/if they come up out of warranty.

I own a C6 and a Pontiac G8GT. From what you describe as your needs, you would be very happy with a G8. The thing is very roomy inside for the dogs, the performance and handling is top notch, the fuel mileage I'm seeing is about 20 overall and 24/25 on the highway. Best of all, the price was under $30K. It has a 6 liter V8 based on the LS3 with Active Fuel Management and 361hp. Give it a look.

If you are willing to give up on performance and you lease your cars; try the BMW 650 convertable. The lease price on a three year lease is only about $100 higher than a Vette with the 3LT package, NAV and chrome wheels. (roughly about $1,150 per month including CA tax) Back seat is small and the car is not very quick but at least its a convertable and you can get it in some pretty nice colors.
