Chevrolet needs to do market research on paint colors
I don't want to offend Vette owners who are happy with their choice of exterior color but I feel the need to vent about this years color changes.
Chevrolet needs to do some better market research regarding their choice in paint colors. While the current Corvette colors of black, red(s) and yellow are adequate, the new Cyber Gray and Blade Silver are not up to snuff and this fine automobile deserves to be offered in colors that have more style, depth, richness and class.
Can't the people picking the new colors look at the colors used by BMW, Aston Martin, Jaguar and Ferrari for a clue on what a nice gray or silver tone should be? The new Blade Silver is almost white in color and lacks any depth and the Cyber Gray is way too blah to properly showcase our beloved car in a proper manner.
The lease is running out on the third convertable Vette I have leased over the last nine years. As a man in his 50"s with a taste that prefers sophistication to bright flashly colors, I am very disappointed with the changes made to the 2009 color line. I may extend the lease on my machine silver vette in hopes that someone at Chevrolet comes to their senses and issues a new color in 2010 that I would be excited about owning; or I may just have to bite the bullet and lease the Jaguar XKR. I've driven the XKR and it is nowhere near the Vette in terms of performance but at least I can get the Jag in a decent color and with a much nicer interior.

I'm with you but luckily, I'm a "yellow" fan. If I wasn't, I don't know which 09 color I'd choose.

If they did research they may actually learn something about their customers and we can't have that now can we?!
LONG LIVE LMB...oh wait, they stopped making that!

I like the Cyber grey but I never liked the silver on a vette.

Cyber gray should be a little lighter and blade silver should be a little darker. A pearl white would have been nice at some point. The metallic oranges were not very popular. A forest green like the C4s would have been a popular one I bet.

I have to agree, I haven't liked a Corvette silver since Pewter.
There are many mid-silvers that are rich and lustrous, I see them on other vehicles all the time. The Corvette deserves a really nice silver.

Machine Silver was fine, but the new Blade Silver I think is too light. Cyber Gray is a decent color but the embedded Jetstream Blue flakes I'm not too fond of. It still is a good looking color regardless.
It's easy for me though since my favorite car color is black. But my favorite color overall is blue and when they replaced LMB with JSB I nearly hit the floor. I even saw a JSB Vette a few months ago and still couldn't bring myself to like it for whatever reason.
But people seem to like the flashy orange and yellow colors and so on. Not my cup of tea but whatever butters their biscuit, I don't care the least since as long as they make a black Vette that's fine.

Tough to please everyone's color choices and I am in the minority I guess because I think they do alright. I love VR and would consider cyber gray for my next Vette. I have not seen any BMW or Porsche colors that made me wish GM would offer them. If I did no big deal I am always certain I will find a Vette to purchase in a color combo I like.

I think the new cyber gray is a very sleek color. Plus there's atomic orange and yellow. Black and red round it out. Silver and white are my least fav, but to each his own.
It's all opinion, isn't it? I think the color choice is just fine.

Why is it that everyone that doesn't like a paint color thinks that everyone else shares that opinion.

I'm betting that they will sell fewer 2009 Blade Silver Vette's than 2008 Machine Silver. Of course we will have to factor in the economy and declining auto sales.
