I have two garage doors and programmed buttons on my wife's 07 Aura and my 08 C6 to open both doors. No problem at all for either car.

I have the same exact problem. Lear said I need to get the "Master" opener from the HOA so I could copy the dip switch settings.

Checked with the HOA - no one knows anything about a Master.

Called the Electronic Gate people - they said only the HOA has it, but for $100 will come out and read off the dip switch settings to me.

Totally irritating - my original Homelink visor worked great. Got a new visor under warranty because the vanity cover broke.

I now have car2u and it sux....

Unless your opener is ancient, I would be very surprised if it was incompatible.....what make is it?

Have 2 different garages doors that I've tried to program to work that both have fixed codes, not rolling, and have been unable to get them to work with '09 visor. Dealer says it will not work with a fixed code door. Has any one been sucessful programming a FIXED code garage door with the new visor? If so, I will keep trying, if not I will be grumpy. BTW, programmed doors on Honda in minutes.

Rolling code garage doors are a little more complicated. That is what I have. You have to press a button on the door opener and in the car.

that is what I had to do....get on a ladder, press the program button on the opener and then push the necessary buttons on the visor within 30 seconds. it worked the first time. my garage door opener is 10 years old and was not on the 'approved' list at the car2u site

--- Other than having to climb up, open the side of the garage door opener and pressing a button to put THAT in program mode as well...it was a snap and worked the first time...........

Default Lear Sucks

The new Lear unit sucks. Another instance of GM trying to save a couple of pennies. The original homelink units were much easier to program and worked with pretty much anything and you didn't need to worry about dip switches they just learned the codes. I wish GM would focus on the things that really mattered when looking at cost reductions or simplifications.

I have the fixed code (DIP switches) garage door opener. It took a while (hell, a long while) to get my 09 to accept the program. I just did it over and over again until it finally programed.

Programmed my '05 no problem.

Was only successful programming button #1 on my '08. Dealer replaced the visor, now I can't program any of them.

I have an 06 and I cannot get it to work. My garage door opener is only a year old. My 01 Cadillac worked the first time. Suggestions anyone?
