Remote visor garage door opener too complex.
Anyone been able to program and use the remote opener in the visor of the 08 or 09? The Infinity we had only required a user to press a button at the same time as another remote opener was used and it read the code.
The vette one seems impossible.

Just read the instructions in the manual a couple of times and it will work for you. I too had trouble until I realized I forgot to press the two outside buttons first to get it in program mode.

Don't waste your time. There's been a problem since 07 when GM changed from homelink to a CHEAPER Co. Do a search. That Co. provides an update for a nominal fee to the system.

The Co that manufactures the unit basically admitted they F'ed up. As i remember they now make a device to fix the problem. These threads were running a year or so back. Maybe someone can help me here. I remember reading all this stuff on the companys website. Just can't remember the Co's name.

Took delivery of my 09 Z06 last week. Sit outside in the driveway for a hour and a half trying to get the blasted thing to program. Did it over and over and over and over and finally it took the program. I was ready to call my saleman and have him come to the house to show me where I was screwing up.
PS...I did read the instructions...over and over and over and over.

It worked on my 08 built in Dec.
First I memorized that section of the owners manual, then I climbed a ladder to push a transmit button on the garage door opener motor, then run back to the car to push a learn button until a lite blinks.
Its easier when you have a second person push the button on the garage door opener motor.

The most common mistake is to not first push the two outside buttons. If the LED does not blink while you are trying to program the rolling code garage door opener you are not in programming mode and it will not work. It will only take about 20-30 seconds total.
The older models with dip switches works exactly like the manual describes.
If you have a subdivision gate access system then you will require an updated transmitter from Lear. Takes from two to six weeks to get everything done, in my case it also required a new receiver to be installed by Lear in the gate electronics unit.

Can you give me more info on subdivision gate acceess. The garage opener was no problem but can't get the front gate to work. I am not sure if anyone is allowed to install electronics on our gate.
