PCM removal was very easy
Yesterday I removed the PCM to send out to Chuck at COW for a tune...
It was real simple. (Note, I have a manual 05)
Tools needed were a jack, tire iron, flat head screwdriver, & a 10mm ratchet.
- Disconnect the battery and jack the car up
- Remove the front passenger Rim
- Remove the push pins holding the front fender piece in place. (flat head screwdriver helps)
- Unbolt PCM from side of car. (4 bolts holding it in place)
- Pull out PCM and unhook red ties, then unlock each of the 3 connectors.
- Individually remove each connection, 3 total.

Whoa! That is sooo much harder than it was in my Trailblazer SS. You don't even need any tools, let alone taking parts off. Were the PCM is has just assured that I will never get a tune! I don't doubt it was easy, but I have crap luck and I could just imagine the issues I would cause doing that! HAHA!

But this I had to remove the wheel, then go in the wheel well, strange.
Again, it was EASY, longest part was jacking the car up, and removing the wheel. Hope it doesnt detur you from getting a tune.

Well, I tried that tonight by just turning the tire. I actually don't have a jack to lift it up to get the tire off. Who owns a jack when you have run-flats? I peeled back the cover as much as I could but wasn't able to even see the PCM, much less unbolt it. I guess I'll be able to get a better view of it heads on without the tire in the way.
