Run flats?
you choices are oem or Firestone firehawk. The firehawks have better reviews than the GY.

not run flats.
I had the BFG KDW2s in +10mm front and back. They were nice tires, but i ended up with the Kumho SPT's for the street and the MX for autocrossing.

Very nice tires.

I just replaced by GY's with a new set of the Firestone RF's, a week ago. They were much less expensive and it feels like a new car now. Much more quiet, smoother ride, better handling... I like them so far and am glad that I still have the run flat feature.

Thanks for your help. Just checked with Tire Rack, they are out of the Firehawk fronts and they are giving a $50 rebate on a set of 4 Goodyears. Told them I would call back in a week to check the status of the Firehawks. Thanks again

You might want to check with your local Firestone dealer. That's where I got mine from.

I understand the Firehawks are worth the wait. My GS-2s have 25K miles and appear to be on their way to 40K, so it'll probably be a while before I will enjoy a set of my own Firehawks.

I had 28k on my original GY's and they looked fine. The noise from them was beginning to bother me, so I checked on the Firestone's. When I went the the Firestone dealer, he was checking the tread and I found that the inside treads on the front tires were badly worn, down to the cords.

I checked the forum and found that this is normal wear for Corvettes. The Firestone dealer confirmed that the alignment was correct and the wear normal for handling purposes. You might want to take a look at yours, if you have that many miles on them. I had no idea of the wear on mine, till we looked at them.

I got my Firestone Wide Oval's RFT in January and think they are fine. Traction as good or better than the OEM. And no noise. I recommend them.

The Goodyear Supercar are about double the Firestone cost and I don't feel they are any better.

How about the new Michelin PS2s that come on the ZR1 (if they make standard sizes) and they are run flat.

I think that $50 rebate is on a set of "winter" tires.I ordered a set of 4 Goodyear Eagle F1 GS2 EMT's from Tire Rack last week and they came overnight.Really great service.I didn't put them on yet but I'm hoping they last longer than the 18,000 miles I got out of the original GY Supercar tires.

I have had the Firestone RFs on for awhile and do think there are way better then the GYs there are alot of choices but I think you should stick with the run flats and you can't beat the Firestones. Bassspring

I just want to know how ANYONE gets more than 12K on Supercars (Z51 tires). I adjust my tire pressure about once a week. I've done a total of 3 (yes - THREE) burnouts. I drive like an old man. I've never taken the car to the track. And at 12K, they need replacing. On my '03 Z51, I got 20-22K but this is a joke. I'll probably go to non-runflats but definately will go elsewhere than GY. And yes, at 4K miles I had my alignment checked and it was spot on.

Are you guys who are getting 25 -30K miles on Z51 Supercar tires? Are you running 30 psi all around? Am I missing something??

I got 20k out of my GY F1 Supercar tires . . .just kept pressures good and didn't do any burnouts until I had the new tires on order . . . probably coulda gotten another 1-2k out of `em, but it was more fun eatin' `em up!
