What everyone is forgetting is the dealer has too much invested in that car.
The Dealer will not come down to the market level because of his investment several months ago.
The Key is to find a dealer that just purchased a vette that you like. This way you know the dealer screwed somebody else so you can then haggle to a fair price.
It's really how it works.
Nobody on this planet is going to pry that car from that dealer at market price so just understand its not you.

And there lies the problem.
Although the car is untitled and the dealership will price this as a new car, 2500 miles is.....used. If they won't give you a seriously discounted price for 2500 miles, then I would buy new with 4 miles on the odometer.
I just looked at a 'new' 2008 Z06 in the dealership that had 1800 miles on it and they wanted the the standard MSRP - $9000. They wouldn't bargain despite the 1800 miles. Not to mention how many of those miles were 'test drives.'
Then there is the private seller of a 2008 Z06 with 800 miles on it for thousands less than the above because it is has been titled. Far better value in my mind.

Thanks guys- You've helped out alot!
Like you I think an '08 with 2500 miles should be priced... well... like an '08 with 2500 miles!
I was thinking in the "$50,000 give-or-take-a-little" range so you're estimates say I'm pretty close.

I am interested in the corvette described below. It is at a dealer approx 3 hours away from my home.
2008 3lt Convertible
Two tone interior
Auto
polished gumbys
dual mode exhaust
MSRP $64960.
It has never been titled but the dealer owner has been driving the car. It has 2500+ a few miles on it.
No financing- I have a 2002 coupe that I might/might not trade.
Their asking price is currently $58,000 (strictly supplier price-no additional discounts) and change.
Whadda ya think?????
What would you offer considering it's an '08 and has some mileage.

I personally would offer int he range of 42-45k but that's just me.. If they say no, just move on and find another..
But you need to think about it.. I'm about to get an 09 brand new with 4 miles on the odo. for 42k out the door. Dealers are desperate right now, take advantage of it!!

In effort to try and help end the debate I will tell yall what i got and how much i paid for it. My vette is a 08 Atomic Orange 4LT with every option except the NPP exhaust and it has the competition grey wheels, in addition the dealer had a $4000 stereo added on top of the Bose navigation system and he had the Passport SRX detector cusotm installed with two sensors near the fog lights and one in the back on the plate. That detector is $1295 before the install. The owner of the dealership owned quite a few vehicles and was selling two of his vettes (the other one had the Z06 body and a blower on it). Mine only had 419 miles when I drove it off the lot. They were asking $60k even (MSRP plus add ons put the value somewhere around $67k) and I got it out the door for $46K. So I would say yes it is possible to get them to come down $20k. Hope that helps.

Way too much, it's a used 1 year old vet with normal low miles it should be priced accordingly, no more than 41-42k (emp price less 20% depreciation)
Right now from a forum vendor.
And you practically neighbors. Hammond Louisiana $3k Less and current model year brand new, sound like you may need to make a road trip.

Our 2008 Vert listed for $69,000 and we paid $58,750 brand new, 0 miles. That was in May 2008, Picked up at MacMulkin Chevrolet in New Hampshire.
Sournds high for a less expensive car with mileage, it is used regardless of title or not.
