Default OK Corvette Forum- What should I offer?

I am interested in the corvette described below. It is at a dealer approx 3 hours away from my home.

2008 3lt Convertible
Two tone interior
Auto
polished gumbys
dual mode exhaust

MSRP $64960.

It has never been titled but the dealer owner has been driving the car. It has 2500+ a few miles on it.

No financing- I have a 2002 coupe that I might/might not trade.

Their asking price is currently $58,000 (strictly supplier price-no additional discounts) and change.

Whadda ya think?????

What would you offer considering it's an '08 and has some mileage.

That is an awesome price! Add 2K for the Vert and the car is worth 40-41. Perhaps i overshot a bit @ 45

I don't think you're going to get 20k off an untitled car even if it's a year old.

The car is basically used, and has been driven for 2.500 + miles. It is ridculouse for the dealer even to consider asking Supplier pricing, when some dealers here have advertised brand new 0 miles 09's for thousands below GMS Employee pricing. I agree with others, low 40's would be my best offer on that car.

09's are selling at 10k off at best. 20k off 08 is not going to happen.

At $58,000, he's going to be driving it himself for a long time.

Go and search the dealers section. There is a post today for $2,500.00 BELOW GMS Employee pricing, and I have seen around $4,000.00 BELOW GMS Employee pricing on 09's. It seems that you are the only one skiing up-hill on this thread. Read all of the other posts, and you will see...

You can find these anywhere for $45k. However, you may have to pay for shipping so keep that in mind.

Auction is around $40k.

I wouldn't worry too much about overspending unless money is a real issue (and then I might suggest another car). If it's "love at first sight" make a fair offer and see if they bite.

Perhaps you need to look at the largest Corvette seller in the US and see exactly what there's sell for and come back and respond.

Just post where you can buy a new 08 for 20K off. Talk doesn't help anyone buy a car at a cheap price. Kebeck's website tells it all. Prove me wrong.

If it were my deal to make, I'd try and sell my own Corvette privately as the dealer will really low-ball you on yours. As for the "used" '08, something in the high 40's would be opening offer. It's a used car so if you really like it set a limit and stick to it. Nothing over 50K would be my suggestion. If the dealer passes on your offer, look eleswhere. You shouldn't have to drive three hours to find a Corvette. Keep looking, there will be other deals.

@ .25 cents a mile that mileage equates to 625 bucks. It's still a new car if it hasn't been titled yet,as far as DMV goes.Go 50 grand and see what he says and If I were you I wouldn't even consider trading the c5 unless you like getting beat up and insulted. If they are GIVING AWAY the c5's younger, stronger, faster Brother what kind of value do you think it will have on trade???Not much!!
