Out here in the PNW it's gotten clear and cold.....and my low tire pressure warning came on this morning....the suckers had lost about 4 psi each....poor car....
I dont mean to hijack the thread but I have a related question. At a ambient temp of 15 to 20 degrees I top the tyres off at 30 psi then I drive for an hour or so at 70+ mph and the ambi temp. starts to rise to lets say to 30 to 35 degrees what will my tyre pressure be and will it trigger a over inflation warning? Hmm... the question sounds like an old math test question from middle school. if a train is traveling .....
thanks,
Mike

Did you not see my post above? Given your math question, you have left out one of the variables, the tire temperature.
With the info you have provided though, air pressure would go up 1-2 psi. Nothing to be concerned with.

internal tire pressure rises approx. 4psi after the vehicle has been drive a substantial distance. This pressure is actually the correct pressure decided upon by the O.E. vehicle manufacture and the O.E. tire maker... thats why its clearly stated that you check your tire pressure when the tires are cold. if you must check them when they are hot, add 4 psi to the specified correct pressure number.
