Default Any way to reduce drone?

I just had some Billy Boat Bullets installed and at certain RPM ranges the drone ear piercing. I love the sound at idle and at WOT, but @ 2000rpm it's annoying. I was thinking maybe some Dynamat in the cargo area under the carpet, or under the car where the exhaust is. Has anyone out there reduced exhaust drone and how.

Thanks

1)Shift sooner if it's a stick.
2)Put the stock system back on.

Typically Dynamat won't help enough to make a difference. The price you pay with some of these systems. Corsa Sports - music to my ears with just the right amount of cackle and burble.

I put up with it for a year and put the stock back on. I love the sound now.

Default Well...

NPP works for me... best of both... Drone sucks... Even with NPP when open they drone at 1500-1600...1700 it is gone.

I have NPP as well and although IMHO it is lacking in sound both open and closed,it may very well be the best one for you.

I have the PRT center section which quiets it down a lot but there's still plenty of drone there. Drone drives you nuts after a while.

No, get the PRT mid pipe from B&B and it will cut the drone way down.

The downside of Billy Boat Bullets ~ and several other after market exhaust systems. You'll just have to learn to take the good with the bad.

I have the same problem with my C6. I only run into this issue in 6th gear and at 1600 rpms. What I do is : 1. shift back into 5th gear and get rpms at 2000, 2. Increase my speed to 75mph to get out of the 'drone' zone.
I thought about DynoPad, but not sure if that will be worth the cost. I would like to see a response to those that used this product and if it was worth the cost.

I spent a small fortune to get rid of the dreaded 1500 rpm drone. 3 layers of installation but now the car is quieter and so is the wife.

I switched my APS 3" catback to the 3" B&B Fusion catback. In the closed position I have NO DROWN and a sound similar to the B&B RTE 66. In the open position I have moderate (compared to the APS catbacks) drown and a sound similar to the B&B Bullets.

Staying out of that rpm range is the easiest and least expensive solution. When I'm traveling on the interstate, I usually stay in 5th gear (auto) which gives me about 1800 to 1900 rpm around 75 to 80 mph. This keeps me out of the "drone range" and has an added benefit of keeping the rpm's higher which helps the eng. stay in a power band to maneuver out of the way some the idiots that are on the road.

Insulation does help a little and, believe it not, the partitions for the hatch that are sold by vendors on this forum helps also. I bought a partition from MadVettes and noticed the difference.

FYI....I have an auto with headers, X-pipe, and Corsa Xtremes.

Corsa Sport or Extreme. The Corsa A6 H-Pipe will help, but not sure with Bullets. Good luck!
