**Check Engine Light Is On & Misfiring Engine
100% Stock O7 Vert. Just checking to see if others have experienced this.
I was 100 miles out of town when the problem developed on Sunday. Check engine light is full on and car will barely idle due to extreme misfiring. I was able to limp home by keeping the RPMs up enough to keep it running (above 1500).
I had gotten gas 100 miles before the issue strted and added 7 gallons to the 5 in the tank. I would think bad gas would have shown up before driving 100 miles?
Gas cap is on tight and I even unhooked the battery for a few minutes to see if that would reset the issue. It didn't.
Has anyone experienced this and if yes, what was the problem?
I hate to go to the dealer, but it's look like that's what will happen. As always, thanks.

most auto parts places will read it for you... you might just call to ensure you dont have to drive all over town to find the one(s) that read them for you. they usually read for free, thinking that they will (might) get to sell you something. if you have ONSTAR , call them and i believe they wll (can) read codes

Most likely it is a problem with the MAF. Check the connection, if good try some MAF cleaner. It has worked for others.
The only time mine ran rough was when the MAF connector got wet. Dealer dried it out and all was back to normal. Funny thing was it had been 2 weeks since I washed the eng bay. Just use detail spray and micro fiber towel now.
