Default Headliner Separating

I have a 2006 Vette coupe still under warranty. The headliner is beginning to separate from the removable roof. I took it to the dealer and they put some adhesive on it to see if that worked. It didn't and now I have noticed several places around the perimiter of the headliner where it is separating and when I push on the headliner it "pops" almost like bubble wrap. To get this fixed, will the dealer need to replace the whole removable top? Can the headliner be removed and glued back on? Anyone have or had this problem?

Thanks in advance for any help

Not sure what you are describing. On the Coupes, there was a recall on the removable tops. The outside painted top would separate from the inner part. However, it was not detectable from the inside. The exterior part of the roof panel could separate and go flying off and decapitate the guy driving behind you. If you just have a head-liner problem, I would check with the Dealer to see what the problem really is. It doesn't sound like the previously mentioned problem...Sorry...

I think it would be better to just add adhesive to the loose edges instead of trying to remove the entire liner. I would be concerned about the liner tearing around the areas that are still stuck down well.

As light as the liner is, it shouldn't take much to hold it in place. I would think that clear silicon would work to hold the edges in place.

The liner is available as a separate part. Check out GM Parts House.

Mine is dong the same thing - when I get in it, the headliner is pulled down about 1/4 of the top area. Having the dealer fix under warranty next week.

The headliner is a completely separate part. It comes with adhesive all ready on it. It is a 20 minute fix. The dealer should be removing the old headliner and replacing it with a new headliner rather than trying to stick it back in place.
