Default American Iron

Since the weather has been improving and a good rain has washed the salt and debris off the road way, I got all the boys out for a run today.

It has great handling. Feels like a sport bike. It is not broke in yet but it should have strong acceleration. It has close to the same power as the Buell. The Buell runs 65 in 5th gear at 3k rpm. The XR runs 54 at the same rpm. So it is geared for drag racing and the Buell for long distance touring at high gas mpg (64 hiway).

The XR will tach out at 125 and the Buel at 150. The suspension and brakes on the XR are the best that HD has ever put on a bike.

It is a little heavy at 565lbs with 90HP and 74 ft lbs of torque. The same motor in the Buell is 103 hp and 84 ft lbs of torque. The Buell weighs in at 465 lbs which even with taller gearing makes it a great runner.
