WOW! This is excellant! I learned a few things I didn't know like the Route Preview.
One thing that had me going nuts when I first purchased my C6 was that I accidently set a Way-Point. The NAV was always trying to take me by that Way-Point whenever I tried to go somewhere. I posted the problem here on the Forum and someone suggested I check to see if a Way-Point was set and they were right! I deleted the Way-Point and the NAV worked fine after that. Perhaps you could include a short explanation of what a Way-Point is in your document to help out other idiots like me.

Paul ,First let me say THANK YOU for the great and very clear write up!!!. I agree with you I never thought the OEM nav was bad either.I think a very informative EASY TO READ MANUAL is Key here this is something gm left out!!! (maybe you should write for gm...LOL).
I think the bashing is more about members wanting 1 button, big button cartoonish like screens for ease of use.On the fly thats not really a bad thing!!!!But I'm sure after you complete your tutorials you will be responsible for making the oem nav system a whole lot easier for all of us to use!!! Thanks again
Ron

Wow Paul. You made it easy to follow and understand. Thank you very much. I have problems with Nav when I want to go on back roads and POI and Freeway ramps aren't beneficial. The Nav hasn't selected the route you want and so what do you do then??
Thanks again for your most informative posts. Mark

Using the C6 Navigation system - Part 2 Other destination entries and POI's
Here is part two of the series on making better (easier) use of the Corvette OEM navigation system. This contains a few more methods and screen shots for entering simple destinations and a section on using the Points of Interest features of the navigation system. Each of these editions only focus on simple, one destination entries at this point. I'll cover marked points, previous destinations and waypoints in an upcoming edition. Please also understand that these are intended to be a supplement and training aide to the OEM navigation manual as they do not include all of the features or entry methods.
Part 1 of the supplement can be found in this thread and includes many of the fundamentals that you will need in each of the subsequent editions:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...n-address.html
You can also download parts 1 and 2 from the Tech Tips page of my website located here:
http://www.theredlion.us/Tech%20tips2.htm
When I'm finished I'll also put one complete manual together which will include all of the individual parts. That will only be listed on my website simply due to size constraints.
Thanks to everyone for the feedback on the first installment. I'll be trying to do a few more over the upcoming weeks. Stay tuned and I'll of course post them here as I go.
