When we moved down here to SW Florida I got my windows tinted to theFlorida state standards. I just hope when I drive up north some over zealous LEO doesn't decide to stop and ticket me.

CA is beyond broke so they are looking for any revenue. The LEOs probably memorized the rule book and look for anything.

Yes and this was in 2010. I got by without problems for 5 years then after that they kept coming back for more.

You won't get ticketed. Your vehicle is registered in FL and those are the laws you need to stick to.

In California it's illegal to tint any window but the rear. I know, it cost me $40 to remove $60 worth of tint. CHP are so picky

I did a 3M window tint called "Black Chrome." It is legal, if barely so. I selected this tint as it was the most heat reducing one available as well as being legal. It reportedly reduced heating by 58% over plain. Living in sunny New Mexico I feel this is a good move. As you live in a hot sun state, I suggest you consider it. (The "Black Chrome" color is most compatible with Cyber Gray, black and other colors.)

As pointed out by the CHP guy that signed off my citation he showed me his friends Corvette parked behind a locked fence. tinted windows? you bet they were. They were black much darker than mine.
