John, Car parts in the house and on that nice rug? Man you got "STONES"
I pulled that about six months ago and put my '67 BB hood in the dinning room. So far it has cost me 5g's and counting, painting, furniture, drapes, carpet. Man I learned my lesson. BTW those parts are "Boss".

Default Here is what is out there for red chromed coated rotors

Let me know if anyone finds these in 13” front and back . I have looked . They are offered for the newer models . We can get them in 12.97 fronts and 12” rear for c4’s . I’m enclosing the pictures . My last thread I started was answered with powder coating ect . Which as I stated in that thread would last as long as a popsicle In Hawaii!! These are new tech red coating ! Cheers !

They are a zinc coated rotor , I believe they are red chromed and then they apply the coating !

Nice !

I saw someone just paint the hat part. Looked good. A little different. You Tube guy: My Corvette Life.

Or by getting pads in the same color so they keep repainting the friction surface?

Looks good but not sure if it's practical.

No need to pay for powder coating--just paint the hats whatever color you want them to be with high-temp paint. I recently painted my calipers and put new rotors on. Painted the hats black and am very happy with how they turned out

Hats look good painted, but seems dysfunctional to paint the rotor surface, where all the friction of the pads will wear it down right. Might be one of those new fangled 'modifications', on the market.

All that red color will be embedded in the pads immediately.

I haven’t heard of any industrial coating that is not going to eventually wear off. Color would have to be impregnated thru. Haven’t heard of colored steel either. Any coating is going to muss up the pads quickly.

The black hats look good. Kind of like a 2 piece rotor.

There are a bunch of videos on youtube explaining it. Essentially, the companies are too lazy to mask off the swept-area of the rotors when they paint the hats an vents, and let your brake pads do the work the first time you hit the brakes. Can't be good for pad longevity. But all the color is gone off the sweet area in a mile or two.

Luckily it looks like those are available unfinished in the swept area.
