I have gotten some work done in the past days. Since this is an american car made for the american market it needs some modifications before it can pass an inspection in Sweden.

One major issue is the lights. In Sweden, the turn signal must be yellow, the daytime running light has to be white and the car must be equipped with turn signal lights on the front fenders.

In order to "fool" the system, I have used the turn signal that goes to the front turn signal and have connected it to a relay.

This means that the car does not "see" the new turn signals. If I was to just parallell-wire the new turn signal the turn signal would blink very slowly or the car would register the extra amps needed as a fault in the circuit.

I then connected my new turn signal to turn signal lights at the front fender

And then to the rear turn signal light, I purchased a used wire harness which was modified to fit the ugly Euro outer rear tail lights.

The original rear turn signal and brake light signal is now disconnected and in order to avoid a fast-repeating turn signal I have to simulate the org lights. For this I used resistors mounted on metal plates to keep them cool.

I now have the turning signals the way i want them, but no brake signal. In the last picture you can see the relay for the new brake signal, for this I used the signal from the trunk brake light.

This only leaves the yellow daytime running light which I simply disconnected with new connectors.

All of the cutting of the org harnesses has been done so that it can all be connected back to its original shape using the water-tight connectors.

It is moving slowly forward, the front fenders are in decent enough shape to hopefully pass the registration process. However, we do need to modify it a lot in ordr make it line up with the rest of the car and I also need to move the wheel outwards.

Does anyone have information regarding how wide the wheelbase is on the Z06 and C6? Offset on factory rims?

To the OP, if you want to build a body kit pick a car that needs one. Others have modded the C6 body but IMO none have succeeded. OP, you're wasting your time.

It´s a little too late to pick another car to work with I´m afraid. I hope that, in the end, you will agree looks better than it did when I picked it up at the harbour.

No suggestions where I can find info regarding wheelbase on C6 vs. Z06 C6?

The wheelbase is identical. Are you referring to the track width?

To "Designer Rob": Good job on ignorant post of the day.

This is pretty lame to say to a guy that's obviously already putting a lot of time and effort into this car. The OP was actually quite nice in saying that its too late for him to pick another car.

I appologize. My post definitely didn't help the OP out. My constructive input is to integrate a splitter and license plate mount into the front fascia. And to integrate a rear spoiler into the rear fascia. I think it would be cool as well to do something like the C6R fender top vents. Good luck!

Now that's about the nicest admission of a mistake I've ever seen.

No sweat, thanks for the input. I am a bit allergic to large spoilers but top vents, license plate holder and splitter sounds like a great idea.

It will be based on the Z06, the exact modifications are not specified. The first step is to get it registered and through the DMV.

We will try to improve the aerodynamic flow around the wheel arches (straightening the front of the arch). Side skirts from the C5R will be modified to fit the car but this car will still look like a Corvette. I was hoping to post some pictures of the car in driveable shape at the end of next week. It will never have a F&F spoiler on the its rear end.

The car passed through the registration process today. Looks like a wreck but it´s now street legal!

We will hopefully start disassembling the car on Saturday.

The car is now partly disassembled and the "fun" part has begun, it is very time-consuming to align all the bits and pieces. I´m glad that there are a lot of adjustment built in to the original mountings.
