Need advice on decal install
Need advice on installing new door sill decals. I never liked the stock black 07 door sill decal, so after seeing my buddy's 08 metallic door sills I ordered them from dealer.
I never had luck with decals, bubbles mostly. So my questions is should I use spray with soapy water on sill as I apply decal.
Any advice on soap mixture and procedure would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Front Side Door Sill Trim Plate Decal (OEM)
•Use a plastic flat-bladed tool to remove the sill plate decal.
•Remove the old adhesive from the door sill mounting area with alcohol prior to installing the new sill plate.
•Replacement decal has a protective backing on front and underside face of part, backing paper has notches and marked on locator to aid in installation.
•Slide decal against step in mounting area and align 3 notches in upper backing paper of decal with the 3 notches in the inboard edge of side door finish panel.
•Ensure that the mark in the upper backing paper of decal indicating the position of the drain hole in the side door finish panel is over drain hole.
•Wet out the entire area of the upper backing paper of decal to secure to side door finish panel.
•Remove upper backing paper from decal and inspect sill plate for air pockets.
I used these. No worries on air bubbles.

Mark the edges of the old door sill with tape so you can properly align the repalcement. Use adhesive remover, goo gone or WD40 (that's what I used) to get the old adhesive off and leave a smooth finish to mount the new decal . . .work from one end and peel off the backing paper while checking your alignment with the tape.
Work the bubble towards the edges using a plastic putty scraper or just your fingers. Took about 20 minutes a side but a nice imporvement over the black decals on my `05.
Hope this helps - -

I got the metallic sill plate decals installed. Look great compared to stock black decal.
Thanks for the fine advice.
