Hi rod killion,

I’m sorry to hear about this “clunk” noise you’re experiencing with your Corvette. Have you made your dealership aware of this concern yet? I understand you may be seeking advice from other forum users, but I would be happy to reach out to the dealership to facilitate a service appointment so they can take a look at this for you. To best assist, please send a private message with your VIN, mileage and preferred dealer. Additionally, for privacy reasons, I might suggest deleting your post.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kindly,
Lauren E

I had a similar symptom a few years back. It was basically a loose axle nut. $7 part (online) (GM recommends replacing, not just retightening the existing). Use Loctite Red. Piece of cake DIY.

I believe it's a 33mm socket. 130 ft/lbs torque (as I remember).

Good chance it is the axle nut. Could also be a worn sway bar end link. Both easy fixes and not a lot of money. My new end links were $38.00 each and as noted above, new axle nut is under $10.00. I would check the axle nuts first

is it only back ones (end links) that have to be replaced? can it be done at home?
