I let the car cool overnight before I took it off. About two tablespoons of gas leaked out (on the towel) but it doesn't spray out with any force. I'm not sure what would happen if you just had the car running, it may actually spray out. That's a very good point. Thanks for bringing that up. I'll add that and a picture of the schrader valve to the directions. Thanks Steve, I appreciate the help.

Great tutorial!! I would like to paint my FRC's (DIY) yellow but am nervous about painting the lettering black, Any advise? I saw a post where guys where painting their bumpers. How do they get the lettering so perfect? Is there a stenciling kit for this? Please advise.

Thanks,

Mike

This is excellent! I was thinking I should have a mechanic friend install my newly painted FRC's when I get them, but this gives me the confidence to do it myself. Outstanding step-by-step instructions with exellent pix.

not for nothing, but couldn't you just use a painter's tape around the edges that would scrape against the fuel line to protect them? Just seems like a lot of work to get it on and off.

I always cover the fuel line with tape when removing the FRC. Even if I was to disconnect the fuel line, I would still do this because I'm not moving the FRC on bit until that abrasive stainless steel line is covered and not going to do any damage.

Very timely thread for me. I'm waiting for my FRCs to come in. Vendor screwed the first ones up by sending me one with the oil filler hole, even though I made it very clear to them when I ordered that my LS3 was a dry sump version, and did not have the filler hole.
