Default Whats wrong with Magnaflow?

Went to Carlisle yesterday and met my life long hero Mario Andretti. He signed my rail cover and I'm in heaven. Later at a Q&A at the grandstands, he plugged his sponsor Magnaflow a bit and of course had nothing but praise for their products, telling about how he put them on his Vette and everything fit perfect and he loves the sound!

I have been in the market for aftermarket exhausts and have read the many posts praising Corsica and others, but never a mention of magna flow. What gives???

Thanks for your input,
George

Nothing...magnaflow is a fine exhaust.

I've personally just always used Borla on my firebird and my corvete and love the sound.

To add on....it's all preference.

Personally I cannot STAND the sound of Corsa exhausts because it sounds too european. That's just what some people like.

Default Magnaflows are great

i have the magnaflow cat back system (15884) and love the sound and the exhaust tips are awesome, no drone, nice deep rumble and never too loud, this should have been stock from GM.

We installed a set on my sons 07 Corvette and I had them on our Cobra. I decided to go with the entire Z06 exhaust system for my 05 Corvette. I guess it all comes down to personal preference

THIS....

I have no problem with CORSA except for the fact that they RAISE prices every year a disproportionate amount (compared to everyone else) without any product improvement. The price for ls1 TA exhaust has doubled since 01 when I bought corsa for my TA....same stuff. You can get MAGNAFLOW for under 800 bucks for the VETTE today and the tips and fit and finish are great. (actually the tips are better looking on the vette than the corsa...imo and several hundred bucks less..

edit for rear shot.

I bet they sound good. I think my cousin has them on his C5. And at lower price point too. But, I love my Borla so . . .

Nothing wrong with Magnaflow.

My girlfriend had a set put on her 99 C5 yesterday at Carlisle. Not only are they good looking, sound great, but the free install and discount made them a deal!!

Out of curiosity we checked the gas mileage on the way there Saturday morning and her stock C5 got 31.5 mile to the gallon on the interstate (about 130 mile worth of interstate), driving with the cruise on and doing about 68 mph.

Today, coming home with the new Magnaflows I locked the cruise on 63 mph, taking the same route and got 35.0 mpg. All of this was calculated by the built in computer and I have NO idea how accurate it is, but the tac indicated about 1,400 RPM's in 6th gear. She certainly didn't buy the exhaust to increase gas mileage, but it is a nice bonus.

It is still incredible to me that a car with such performance can still deliver gas mileage.

I have hit 32 mpg with my 08 C6 under similiar circumstances.

I think my car sounds great with them. Not too loud, but the rumble is there. Also, the tips look mean!

You know i wondered the same thing. Why no one has Magnaflow. I had the guys at the tents start up the C5Z and the C6Z. Damn they both sounded awesome. Had the deep borla tone to it but was more "tuned" i guess you could say. I was really liking whatever series they had the c5z. Most go with corsa or borla not sure why we don't see magnaflow.
