my C6 went to work today..
although......Im retired 1 month this friday. The folks at work kept begging to see it.. so I took the plunge, drove the 48 miles up there, parked in front of the office bld, and a horde came down.. nothing but compliments and "ooohs and ahhhhhs".. i was eating it up.. one guy, a big Harley bike fan (has 3) said "thats the cleanest black car I have ever seen in my life"....... :o
then the icing on the cake.. my ex gym partner, a wonderful young lady in her late 20's, and very very attractive on top of that, cancelled her class, grabbed her gym bag..and rode with me to the gym a couple of blocks away and we parked underground...went up and worked out for an hour. my gym paid for the parking too....(same company ill be personal training for starting august)...
it does not get better than this.. i had the express lanes going up at 10 a.m. and coming back at 1:30 with no restrictions on occupants..traffic was light... and I'm even more proud of my vette that I ever was now.
a funny: my friend, the young lady.. and I laughed our butts off driving over to the gym. speed limit is very slow, it was lunch hour, the sidewalks were full of office workers of all ages...and boy did i get the dirty looks from the old women... who also stared at my friend... ..."dirty old man driving a Corvette with a young good looking chic"... hahahahahahahahahaha we cracked up.
of course, she deserved a detail after that "long haul".....

For some reason my AO C6 always gets noticed when I bring it to work (once every couple weeks). Some guy in a 370Z was ragging on my Impala. I didn't say anything then but he was a little pissed when he saw me park my Vette next to him a month later or so.

guys, yes, my wife has met her... she's a classy young lady all the way.. engaged to a guy in Canada.. and damn i wish i could have got pics.. but ya know, i think she's smart enough to know that would be uncool on my part..... there are dozens of guys at my old office that just flat @$$# drooled over her... Im the one she trusted and became friends with knowing I was not some dirty old hungry for young women man...... but i tell you what..... if i was 30 years younger, and single, and she was not engaged, i'd walk 5 miles backwards on my elbows just for a chance to take her to dinner..... she's got it all.
