He liked the style and power, but was not too complimentary about anything else.

That's why they drink their beer warm, Lucus Electronics. After all the bashing they found a broken wire and had to replace the infamous "Tokyo by Night" IC and the AC needed a simple "recharge" to bring it back to life.

But give it was a 20 year old car that looked neglected I doubt any British, Euro or Asian car wound have fared any better.

Lucas. I have a special place in my heart for that manufacturer having owned an AH 3000 and an MGB. I am a slow learner.

Agree. I have a 63 Jaguar E-type Coupe. Choth wrapped wires and positive ground. Who else but Lucas would consider that.

Did anyone notice the "recesses" in the belt molding on the rear bumper? What are those? I'm wondering if they are rear fog lights. Anyone know?

I did like how they recovered the door panels! It was funny the term he used to called them.

"American V8!" And that was with a stock exhaust system. Image if he threw a set of flowmasters on!

I'm kind of glad he didn't give a number on the horsepower. 205 HP from 5.7L doesn't sound very impressive by today's standards.

Of course, that was an '84, the only year C4 with Cross Fire Injection. In '85, they went to the Tuned Port Injection with 230 HP. Still not much, but better than most European cars of the day.

I also have had my experience with Lucas electrics. When in college, we put a 289 Ford into an MG TD. The rule was, if it said "Lucas" on it, it went into the garage sale pile. We replaced everything electrical with good ole American stuff.
