I bought my '05 coupe, this year, at Dimmitt and after my experience with their Dealer Prep ~$500, I wasn't too enthusiastic about ever darkening their door again. I subsequently had a couple of occasions to speak with Steve Timoney and he is knowledgeable and is very helpful. I saw the car before they prepped it which is good since they hadn't hidden anything. Maybe the sour experience was a function of their trying to complete the sale by the end of a month, however, after their "prep" the top had not been taken off and the weatherstripping around the top not cleaned and the HUD was full of trash - looked like a $7.99 car wash special treatment and I guess I expected more for my $5c's You would have thought they would have noticed the steering wheel cocked over 5 degrees to the left and the rear differential oil had not been updated.
Anyway, only had to detail the car, have wheels aligned, rear differential grease replaced (wow, what a difference that made) and replaced the evap emissions solenoid. Just felt the poor job on cleaning up the car was a reflection on their quality - I probably am wrong, there must be a Seinfeld episode about card dealers.

What can I say, after the heartburn subsided, I got a great car at a reasonable price and it looks it will be exceptionally reliable, not to mention the fringe benefits

Glad you have had good luck with Dimmitt

Then I must be the .1%. Niles Chevy in Key West scratched my 05 Coupe TWICE! The first one was a 1/8" deep gouge three inches long on the left, then a "modest" scratch through the clear coat on the right side six months later.

Each time, the Service Manager said his techs didn't do it because "they would have filled out an incident report" and since there were no incident reports; they couldn't have done it. What an a$$hat!

So after I traded in the 05 on my 08 Z, I drove it over to Niles and showed the Sales Manager what he missed out on selling to me (they had 4 Z's on their lot). I specifically told him his Service Manager cost them my business. Never again will I use them for anything.

Now in all fairness; Maroone Chevy in Pembroke Pines has been awesome to me. I get great service and they treat me like I expect to be treated. It's 150 miles away and a pain in the butt, but I don't worry about my car being abused.

the morons didn't"get hold of your car" you gave it to them! did you bother to take the time to talk with the service writer on how you expected the car was to be lifted, I do! and all any shop has said is "that we will lift it the way you want" I even bring my own jacking pucks!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but almost EVERY Corvette needs a milder front end alignment to prevent premature wear on the inside corners of both fronts. It'd be a shame to spend $1500 on new treads without investing an additional $100 to preserve their normal lives.

But there have been a few owners over the years who were emphatic about the shop/dealer using the owners own "supplied" pucks . . . and still they either didn't use them or lifted wrong, which resulted in cracking the rockers. Unbelievable!

Every car needs an alignment. The factory alignment is fast and loose and is done in seconds. Save your tires and get an alignment to save your money.

Default Tired of Seeing 92PoloVette Verifable Untrue Comments!!!

My name is Pat De Lorenzo @ 4545 118th Ave Clearwater Fla. 33762. Our buisness name is De Lorenzo Tire and Auto. I own 2 corvettes, a 1968 convertible and a1982 collector edition. We have done literally thousands of corvette alignments for our customers and whole sale customers all over Pinellas County! We have never damaged a car described by Mr. 92PoloVette fabricated story, our phone # is 727 540 0492. I invited anyone to call for a personal tour of our location and our Premium Hunter Alignment system. We believe the damage was previously done to his car prior to coming to our shop, after his car was brought around the front for delivery, he walked right up to the area in question and started his accusations immediately. Was not interested in the before and after specs, or how the alignment went, came out immediatley to the area and pointed to the previous damage!! Shame!!!!! It is completely unnecesary to jack the car in the manner described in his hilarious untrue rant, to be so concerned, no mention was ever made prior to releasing the car to the Alignment specialist. No funny words are needed, just simply he is and LIAR and a CHEAT!!!!

On a side note:

If anyone in the Tampa Bay Area needs to find an excellent shop for alignments or general service then you need to contact me via PM.

I know some great people to deal with and they know how to treat customers. They have been in the business for as long as I can remember and they will treat your car with kid gloves.
