Default Power roof has eclampsia

I was on my way to work the other morning and decided to lower to power roof on my vette. Unfortunately, the rear deck cover opened, the roof started to lower, and while the cloth roof was lowering, the rear deck cover also decided to lower, clamping onto the roof between the rear window and the next fold of the roof. After waiting a few minutes, the hydraulic pressure in the system seemed to drain and I could manually raise my roof. My car is a 2005 C6.
My question is, what could have caused this and how can I trouble shoot it.

Thanks

Sounds like either stuck valve on the valving block or a sensor that is not operating correctly, it could also be the hydraulic ram that opens the deck lid is bad, but mote than likely a sensor.

Default Time to get a shop manual

Thanks for the tip. Looks like I'll need to get a shop manual, so that I get an idea of how the system works to trouble shoot it. I see that West Coast Corvettes sells the GM service manual for $150. In the meantime I'll see what I can find by inspection.

You might also want to check the power top hydraulic pump Pressure Release Bolt and tighten it if loose:

Thanks. I'll check the pressure release bolt also.
