Why wouldn't it be? I am in Calif, that would not make sense if it was not legal?

I thought everything was legal in Texas.

But seriously.....the GM frame could cover a portion of the wheel tax (insert any other taxes) sticker, date sticker, or some part of the lettering on the plate which then makes it illegal in some states.

Color has nothing to do with it.

License plate frames cannot cover any part of the name of the state nor can it cover the state slogan.

I have the GM one on my NY plate and it is perfectly legal.

The GM frame has no part that extends over the actual license plate other than where the screw holes are. It allows my NV Veteran plate to be shown where many other frames hide the word "Veteran".

You be the judge:

Note that it does cover part of the "Texas" and part of the logo on the bottom. Never been stopped for it. For that matter, I have never been stopped for not having a front plate either.

Hi,

Thanks, that's exactly what I wanted to see/know!

I guess, if somebody wanted an excuse, this would be one. I plan on not having a front plate and do not want to push my luck on both plates.

Thanks,
Jeffrey

Hi,

Thanks, I don't have a vanity plate but that is clearly a solution.

Best regards,
Jeffrey

Google mid america motorworks and put in part number 634-072, that'll give you a picture and listing of colors.

Well heck! I actually have a Corvette color matched frame on my CTS Cadillac (don't ask!). I never thought to look at that. I actually know a lady well who got a ticket for that when the law was passed. She was on the front page of the Houston Chronicle for it

I'll have to look at mine tomorrow morning.

Hi,

Thank you!

It does not look like their's would cover any part of the state name or slogan. Plus, it's a better price.

Best regards,
Jeffrey
