My 7 month old golden retriever pup (1 year old now) in her only trip my 95 vette. She barely fit in hatch area at the time. As soon as I got her out, the lint brush came out.

Here you go.....our good friend Gilby, he is almost 15 now.....still climbs the stairs and wont miss a walk, but is pretty much deaf and his eyesight is poor. He has always been my car wash and drive way buddy.....loves to be outside and watch me work on the cars. I dread the day he goes. He was an animal shelter pup we rescued. Best dogs.

I know what you mean. My avatar is of my boy who we had to put down last year. You can prepare but you'll never be ready for it. I have 2 more dogs now I love them all, but differently. He was my favorite. I believe Mark Twain said something like that, "the only bad thing about a dog is that they don't live very long. Good luck,
Jeff

I'm a huge dog lover (we have two) and my eyes water just seeing a post like this because I have such a soft spot for them. My wife works for a vet, and she gets just as emotional for all the clients who come in as she does for our own. If it gives you hope, I had a dog who had two strokes, went deaf and still lead a happy life til we finally had to put her down three months short of turning 19.

The two we have now just turned 13 (they are litter mates). One looks and acts half her age. The other can barely hear and limps due to a torn ACL that we elected not to have surgery on. But she still gets around fine and has plenty of spirit.

These pics are several years old, but still pretty much what they look like except the black one has a lot more gray around her face. And yes, they really are litter mates!
