Pics-Central Arkansas Corvette Club Drag Racing And Road Trip
Well, our Corvette Club (Central Arkansas Corvette Club) had a drag strip reserved for us to do some autocross and drag racing on Saturday. It was a blast, we had about 30 members present. After drag racing we went for a drive to Mt. Nebo again, and then out for some great catfish. Another forum member, Larry (LEBVETTE) was there too. I hope you enjoy the pics!

Sorry I missed the event. When they had to reschedule to yesterday they conflicted with opening day of duck season.
Looks like a side trip to Mt Nebo again from the photos.
What was the fastest time, and fastest stock C6 time?

Well mine is a stock 2008, I believe I ran faster than any of the other C6's except for the ZO6's, though I did beat one of those too. 1000 foot dragstrip time 10.58 sec.

Tommy ran good in his blue one. That 10.58 would be a mid 12 in the quarter.
I ran awful in my Z. No traction through 1st and most of 2nd. Lowered a/p to 25# and still had a lot of wheel hop. I think I ran a 10.60, 2.2 in 60'.....a good driver would have got down in the 9's. I have a lot of respect for the ones that can handle these beast in the quarter mile. Of course, I have not been on a drag strip in 30 years, so I'll use that for a flimsy excuse, and if Tommy was beside me... it might have inspired me to do better.
We had a great time, tho. All I need is about 60 or 70 more passes and MAYBE I would get better.

I suspect it wasn't the 30 years as much as what you were driving 30 years ago. Unless you were driving a "funny car" times from 1979 didn't come anywhere close to a Z06. And you don't have the luxury of an auto tranny in that Z06, that would lower your times a good 1/2 second.

1979....hum...my math is bad, make that 35 years. I was driving a 69 Z28...not as fast, but it was a lot of fun, tho.

Jetstream blue----Back in 1979 I was just born!
