Constant Buzzing behind Dash (Cluster)
Sounds like my Car is shaving with an electric razor behind my dash (Cluster)
08 A6
Sometime is faint sometimes its louder. Is not rev matching, tied to fan, or audio.
What am I missing?
Trying to avoid a trip to the dealer.

Reminded me of a funny story on a 94 Camaro Z28 I bought new. I had an intermittent buzzing, also sounded like it was coming from the dash. I even called the dealer to see if there was an outstanding issue. He said no. Then I found my beeper under the dash and someone was beeping me but it was on vibrate!

check to see if your in car temp changes with yours and the passenger controls. If a blend air motor door was stuck it might cause that. Looks a trip is in order either way being thats it under warranty still

it sounds electrical. It makes the sound as soon as I start the car weather I am cruising or standing still

Lets not forget its a Chevy.
I had a rattle in my 08' dash on left side and I ended up cutting up an old credit card and jamming it in. Can't see it and it stopped the damn rattle, until the next one shows up.

Well I did this with my roof top popping, sliding a business card in the latch and all is good.
I still think its electrical (so the card trick might not work)

I have the same exact buzz..it's not the cluster Styrofoam rubbing sound either...I also have that and it is a different thing altogether..somewhat intermittent.

got it too. I thought it was all in my head. Tried to find it but could not. Pressed on everything on the dash while driving. It might go away for a second then back not sure what it is. I can go for a week and it is so faint I have to listen for it then at times it is a bit louder

It is a small temperature sensor that has a small fan attached to it. The buzzing will drive you nuts. It is located to the left of your ignition button behind the round vent. The dealer can change it out rather quickly.

You can see the fan and it's location on pages 9 and 10.
Thank PCMusicGuy for the hud install write-up.

Me too
I've heard a kind of clicking/rattle from my dash area for the last three months or so... but only if the top is up on the vert. If it is down, then there is no buzz. It's really hard for me to even be sure where it is coming from. Since my wife can't drive a stick, I haven't been able to get in the passenger seat and give a good listen.
Yeah, $60,000 cars still squeak and rattle; but interestingly enough, I don't mind it so much in the vette as much as in my wife's Aveo! It still buggs me though.
Good luck finding your sourse of irritation!

As for the buzzing-I stuck a small jewelers screwdriver in the slots where the little fan was and moved a wire to the side and it is quiet.
I hope that is all it is and the sensor is not reading wrong temps in the car.
we will see
another trip to the dealer diverted thanks to the Corvette Forum
