Dual Mode Exhaust Question
Hey guys, I bought a new 2010 Grand Sport with the dual mode exhaust. I've had a couple C6 vets but none with this exhaust. I'm going to pick it up Saturday, can you tell me, does this dual mode exhaust kick in and out on it's own? And I do have a new mild to wild switch. Will it hook up to my car and let me change the exhaust as I would like? Thanks, Greg

yes, all on its own.
ah, the second part of the question. yes, it will allow you to change the exhaust from closed to open at will. it will not, however, allow you to leave it partially open.
I happen to like the little "collars" that are available for the NPP exhaust which allows for the "valves" to remain slightly, or more open, as you like it. Mine are just barely cracked open and it's perfect for me at idle and at lower rpms.

I bought the m2w but haven't installed it. Just remove the fuse, it sounds great fully open all the time. Comparable to the volume of the ghl's l had on my 05.

The dual mode exhaust (RPO code NPP) opens the inner exhaust pipes at 3500 rpm. The power difference is only 6hp and 4 Lb-ft of torque, so the main difference is sound.
You can get a Mild-to-Wild controller or the Exhaust Commander, either of which provides a controller to open and close the pipes whenever you want. Either one is easy to install.
If you pull the fuse the pipes are open all the time, which for me is too loud for everyday and drones on the highway. But some people love it.

when you get your new car, read the OM and it will explain the operation of the NPP exhaust option. works on rpm, spped, throttle positions, etc.
as for the M2W switch, instructions are easy to follow and you will like having the option of having the baffles open or closed depending on what your mood is. my mood usually changes when the wife is in the car

I have not heard of these "collars". Do you have any info on them? I'd be interested in installing them for that little extra growl instead of the complete quiet you now get when the valves are closed.

Either contact TALON 90 or type "NPP collars" into any search engine. I think that Talon will be able to hook you up, as he is selling products from a vendor that used to offer these.

I have the M2W on my new GS I picked up this week. It works great. I cannot believe how much difference (louder) the "Wild" is inside the car too. Like it for around town and quiet it down on longer trips.
Congrats on the car. You'll love it.

I bought the foot-switch version of MTW instead of the more common remote version. Very convenient, love it.

Buy the M2W with a remote control, I installed the remote in the drivers door map pocket with velcro , buttons facing towards outside. It will always be at your finger tips when needed.

Keep it Wild (pull the fuse) It's a hyperformance car for God sake.If the Stang and Viper owners can live with the exhaust note why can't we? Spend the $100. on mats.
