Mild 2 Wild for aftermarket exhausts
I was just wondering if it was possible to add that kind of feature to an aftermarket exhaust, like the bullets. I know there is an addon by pipedreams but im prety sure you have to use the stock npp mufflers.
Not sure exactly what mechanisms the NPP exhaust uses but I could see one for an aftermarket exhaust could be something as simple as getting a butterfly valve installed inside your exhaust.

NPP and Billy Boat (fusion?) are the only two I'm aware of. You might just go with electric cut-outs.

While I'm certain that just about anything can be done, the amount of effort to add it to an exhaust that didn't come with the bi-mode valves in place would be monumental.
What a Mild to Wild or NPP in a Box type system is doing is controlling the valves that are all ready in place. The NPP OEM exhaust, the Z06 OEM exhaust and the Billy Boat Fusion exhaust all have a vacuum driven butterfly valve in place. The actuator mechanism is mounted to the outside of the pipes and the valve is in the exhaust opening. The other issue that you will run in to is that in all of the previously mentioned exhausts, they are all plumbed with this application in mind. Simply stated, they are designed to have a change in the flow of the exhaust gas between the open mode and the closed mode. Without knowing what the baffle system was and how the exhaust ports in the muffler interact with the flow of the gases there is no guarantee that you would achieve the desired results. The Z06 and NPP have one pipe that is dedicated to passing the exhaust through the baffles and one pipe that is dedicated to by-passing the baffles. This allows you to change the flow and the note of the exhaust with the simple act of changing a valve position. The Corsa extreme for example, routes all of the exhaust gas in to the muffler and via a series of baffles inside the muffler quiet the tone and pass it out the tailpipe. If you were to put a butterfly on these it would simply prevent half of your exhaust gas from exiting and actually create additional back pressure. You'd likely loose sound and performance.
