Default C6 2005 Driver's Heated Seat Not Working

The heater in my 2005 C6 driver's seat is not working. When you push the heater switch it lights up while you push the button and then it goes off. I pulled the dash off to try a new switch - it had the same symptoms and when I wired the passenger seat into the switch it worked fine. Not the switch. Checked the fuses - even though I would expect no red light at all if it was due to a blown fuse. No problem there. So, that tells me it is either a cable, a connection or a failed heater element. Does anyone have experience with this problem? What is the easiest way to access the connector for the seat heater so I can try to re-seat it? Any other suggestions? Thanks for any help!

The easiest thing to check is the connectors under the driver's seat. It is common for them to loosen or even come apart.

Reset the connectors under the seats. Unconnect them for a few seconds , then reconnect.

I had a problem with my seat keeping the correct memory. Resetting the connectors under the seat did the trick.

You should be able to raise the seat all the way up to have an easy access to the connectors.

good luck

My luck is not as good as most. The wire broke off the element in my wife's car and I had to replace the element $200 later.

Well... the news so far is not good. I disconnected and re-connected all 3 connectors under the seat. The black one was clearly for the heater - when removed nothing happened at the switch. No improvement. When you push the button you hear a faint click noise from the base of the seat, but the light still will not stay on. Don't know if there is another relay or switch in the seat itself, but it isn't working. I hate to do this, but I think I have to give in and let the dealer service it...

Any follow up to this? Tonight I pushed in the switch only to get a quick flash of the red led. The second push did not yield yellow. No heat from the seat. Red LED comes on only while holding the switch in. It's a quick red flash and that's it.

Mine did the exact same thing. It was a broken element in the seat.

This is a common problem for '05's there is a TSB on it. It was covered under warranty, but if you are out of warranty it is out of your pocket.

Phooey! The TSB is for a broken element?

The really fun part is having to remove the leather coverings on both seat cushion and back to replace the heater elements. For a 2005 you might want to consider new leather.
