Yes but it is expensive and VERY expensive if you want the key in it to work. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...-question.html

I prefer the older FOB because they make soft covers for it. http://www.southerncarparts.com/corv...ket-p-277.html

The key fits inside that new fob. The handle for the key is the metal part at the end of the fob.

Not switchblade...slides into the fob and snaps.

For a 2007 it will be a direct swap. You will just need to buy the 2008-2010 fob and key blank, have the key cut for your car and program the new fob (make sure you program it as your primary fob, erasing the old fobs and starting from scratch, or else it will simply add it as fob #3 and it won't work with your memory features as fob #3.

Since that new style fob was originally scheduled to be released for 2007 the lock cylinders are designed to work with the new key.

Prior to 2007 models you would need to add the new lock cylinder for the glove box and rear hatch because the new style key will not work with the old style cylinders.

Here is a photo of the 2008 keyfob design. The key is attached to silver metal portion at the top (bottom in this photo) and snaps inside the fob when not in use.

Paul,
Mine is a very late '07 and the metal key has a 'full width' section in the middle of the key, so I was under the impression that it would not work since the '08 key blank is not wide enough to have that 'full width' cut.....information only, as I like the '07 fob better anyway...but I just thought I would mention it.

I'm just passing along what the GM engineers told me when I asked them. I have an '05 so I've never tried it.

Those little color FOB protectors work well. One of my remotes is loose from trying to open it. Had a very hard time and left big indentions on side of FOB so it doesn't snap back together without having the rubber FOB case covering it. It holds the FOB together.

I've got no problem with my 06' fob, especially since I rarely even look at it. When taking the Vette, toss it in my pocket. When returning home, back in the drawer it goes. My house key's are on a seperate ring than the car fob's, so it's easy to swap car's without all the extra stuff jangling around.

Bingo, that's what the designers intended. Mine could be a fob with no buttons at all. Never use any of them. It's a great system!

The key inside the fob was a great idea, but the new flat fob always gets a button pushed when I get out of the car. (until I remember to put in it a coat pocket). I think I liked the fatter fob better.

I've heard of this problem with the new fobs...I think I would disable all the buttons on at least one of my fobs if I had the newer style.

I do the same here don't use those buttons and I like this old FOB as it looks smaller than the new fancy one. I hate having my pockets full so the less space and smaller the better.

Except the push-button is on the dash...not on the fob. Same since 2005

Opps, you are correct. I read somewhere that they wanted to add remote start.
