Sometimes the cowl will vibrate against the windshield. Check into wedging something in there first.

edit: I see this is resolved. Good to hear.

Bought a 2008 Corvette Coupe in May of this year(2015) The vibration started the day that I bought it. The dealer has tried to stop it numerous times, but with no luck.
Glad to see that I'm not the only one who experienced the irritating noise. I'm going to try the black electrician's tape on the plastic cowl to see if it stops it. Thanks to everyone on this forum for sharing there thoughts and solutions!!

The tape trick confirmed the problem on my 2008 but the fix was to take it to my local windshield repair place and the tech sealed the whole cowl (end to end) with some silicon stuff. It has been perfect since he sealed the cowling.

Thanks for the pic and the information. Unfortunately due to the upcoming winter, I'm having to store my car for the winter. It goes into storage tomorrow. I am definitely going to take it to my local windshield installer in the spring to have it siliconed to see if it fixes the problem. If not, it's going to have to be a new cowl at the dealer.

I looked closer as I put the air to the right side again I noticed that the plastic that set's against the window was vibrating.
The bad part is I had to take the vet to the shop for a new rim and have not been able to tape it down to see if it goes away when I go on the Freeway for a test drive . I will check this when I get it back and up date as to what I find.
I put a piece of black electrical tape across the area where the plastic meets the base of the windshield years ago...all the way across the car. It doesn't show and has been very durable...done and done.

I have the same issue with my 2008, it's either a poor material choice or failure, no doubt. Mine occurs regularly above 70 mph.

I also have the vibration or noise from the passenger side dash on 2008 convertible. started at about 28,000 miles. cannot find anything loose to rattle. starts at speeds around 55. its like there could be a vent door somewhere but cannot find it. very frustrating while driving. sounds like its at the bottom of the A pillar. tried masking tape to the fender/door gap. covered the fender cove. no change.

See the post above yours. That fixed my issue as well. Took about 10 minutes. Try it.

Look at the external plastic cowl at the bottom of the windshield. It tends to rip or pull away from the windshield setting up the vibrations you hear from the inside. If that is the problem, then have a new cowl installed and it should go away.

Same here. The buzzing was crazy! Searched "cowling or buzzing in dash" and found myriad fixes and pictures on this forum. Sounds like this is a very common problem (along with sticking in park and shifter cable problems. Unfortunately, that fix is not so easy. Maybe the Chevy Cust Svc rep can shed some light on those common problems). Some caulk, electricians tape, and it has been resolved for months so far. Will be heading to E. NC and Biltmore/Blueridge Pkwy for a true test next week.

I tried the sealant and the black electrical tape and finally just bought a new cowling and replaced it as described in Russell 333's video above. Simple fix. Sold the car eventually anyway.
