Non bose amplifier specs?
Whats up guys..
First off, yes I made this post in the audio section.
I'm trying to find out the watts per channel with this amp. Specifically the channel for the 8" subs in the doors. I want to install some kicker shallow subs in the doors. The subs I'm looking at are 8" 2ohm 150 rms. I hoping the factory amp has enough juice to push them.
I called the dealership and we all know how that goes. They did tell me it's an amplifier for the corvettes (no sh*t).. BTW the part number is 15841685
Thanks,
Rmedina

Careful......
Generally speaking, car audio speakers (and amps) are 4 ohm. If you were to put in 2 ohm speakers with a 4 ohm amp, you would potentially blow the amp. It "overdrives" trying to look for a load.
Make sure you always have a higher load, never lower. Goes for home audio, too.

with a 2 OHM speaker. Good amps are stable at 2 ohms.

True - assuming the amp's designed to operate at 2 ohms. If not, it would only be true up until the point it overheated, or melted down... or tripped a protection circuit...
Kind of (not exactly) like an engine running at 8000 rpm instead of 4000. It may be able to take it, but it may not...

imo the efficiency of the stock woofer comes into play. Odds are its going to sound like crap without a ton of sound deadner and some real power behind them
i have done aftermarket slim subs in c6 doors with an aftermarket amp powering them, even with decent amount of sound deadner it didnt sound near as good as a real sub in a box would
