I Think I'm doing what they say & it plays 2 Songs & it act funny?

but theres 50 songs on the cd & none of the songs are on the cd twice?

i'm using iTunes on a Mac.

Is there an easy way to burn them?

If you are using a Mac, are you sure that your files are in MP3 format?

Technically, that is what MP3s are....MPEG-1 Layer 3......(Audio Layer 3)

Take a look at these 2:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...mp3-discs.html

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...ml?forum_id=74

Read posts by FortMorganAl especially...he helped me get mine going.

To put more than 18 songs on a disk they have to be in separate folders. Nothing else you can do.

I put 130 songs in one folder on one disc so I can have them played randomly using iTunes. Here's a few links that might help:

Here is what the NAV manual says:

Create a folder structure that makes it easy to
find songs while driving. Organize songs by
albums using one folder for each album. Each
folder or album should contain 18 songs
or less.

Every time I have made a mistake and put more than 18 songs in a folder it won't play correctly and I have to burn another CD.

I put 5 songs in each folder and start folder numbers with 02 instead of 01...that way I can see all of the songs in a folder on the screen and the folder numbers match up. The NAV calls the root directory "folder 1" .

As far as I am concerned GM put little effort into the MP3 player in the C6. I was told that it really isn't a deisgned from scratch MP3 player from the gitgo, but a regular player where they mess with the software to get it to recognize the MP3 format. I originally burned a CD with 125 songs om it. Played great in my wife"s Elantra random or in sequence. My friends 300C..perfectly and my neighbors Lexus no problemos. Didn't play at all in my corvette. Recognized about 12 tracks period. Then I made 25 folders in which I put only 4 songs in each folder. Result was... it couldn't find 1/2 of the folders and in many instances kept playing the same song over and over again. Then I made 125 folders and put just one song in each. Started with folder 1 then 11-26-34-68-etc. etc. Then when I tried to put on random play, it kept playing the same song. It's the same outdated radio that was in my 2005. They have done nothing to improve the electronics. Once GM puts something in, they never change it. That's why a lot of forum members say the newer GM cars have much better Nav and radio. Hell our NAV disc will work in the Grand Prix. Remeber that car???? The reason the newer GM cars work is because they are using updated elrctronics. I guess we'll have to wait for the C7 to get a whole new updated electronic NAV and radio system. Nw if I need more songs I just use the 6 disc GM changer in the trunk. By the way....It's NOT MP3 capable. Go figure.

I've had no problems other than length of title (number of characters including spaces) doing it this way. Maybe iTunes makes each song a folder or something, but I just create a playlist that fits on a CD (around 130 songs), make sure all the tags are 1.0, and burn it to a disc. Works for me.

On a Mac don't use iTunes. Go to finder, find your music, put blank disk in the drive, create your folder structure in the finder cd window. Drag the songs from the Finder window with music to the approprate folder in the Finder window for the CD. When you get the songs drug over press the yellow triangle (I think, it has been a while). To burn the CD. They will then burn. You can name the volume.

Let me ask a followup to this with the MAC... does the CD player in the car, when reading MP3 files, need or expect to see a DOS formatted file structure as opposed to whatever the MAC file structure is on the disk? I'm wondering if this might be a possible issue for the OP.

As a mac guy who runs PC's I have never had that problem with CD's. I have not attempted to burn a MP-3 Disk and read it in my car though.

Default MP3 CD's

After buring about a dozen MP3 only to find out my player would not play them correctly. I finally found a way to get it done. It know sees all folders and files.
1. Roxio Music Disc Creator
2. Load Your Music, I like having several albums on one disc, so i put each album into its own folder.
3. At the top right there is a tab caled Project Settings, click on that
4. Select Keep Native Audio File Formate
5.Under advance change it form Joilet to ISO 9660.

Good Luck

That is the key. ISO 9660 will not allow filenames over 31 chars. Which is the problem most people encounter.
