I did a search for this and did not come up with anything and my manual is at the office.

The red light on my mirror turned on today, next to the onstar button.
Anyone know about this or the cause?

It means OnStar is not working. Happened to me on my new 09 when I took delivery. You can still use the emergency OnStar button to call them and have them run diagnostics. Mine just needed a software receiver update.

The same thing happened on my 09. The salesman was going over Onstar with me during my delivery and he got a red light light when he pushed the blue button. I took mine back a week later and they did a software receiver update and its been ok since then.

Red light indicates that their eavesdropping ability is not working correctly....call them so they can fix it .
