Ticka, ticka, ticka is it the Smoke Monster from Lost?
On the way home from work last night, in the rain, I hear a loud ticka, ticka ticka, and at first it sounds like it is coming from the windshield area - nope. I pull over to see if anything looks loose outside or under the hood - nope.
Then the ticka ticka sounds turns into a thumpa thumpa sound like somthing is flapping underneath the car, slower speeds reduce the intensity, so I slow down.
About a mile from home I hear a light "ping" and then the sound is gone. I parked it in the garage, couldn't see anything as it was dark. This morning I will take it to my dealer to find out what piece of my car is no longer attached to my car. I don't have heat tiles like a Shuttle so that's not it.
Maybe it was a cat, the mystery begins

I lost a two inch wide tread all the way around on the inside of my right front tire - ugh. I was going to replace the original tires this summer during my trip to Rhode Island, but I need them now. Dealership could not get the Firestones for me, so I called Tirerack and ordered them and they will be delivered to my dealership in 5 business days. Great service!

Your "technically-worded" description was priceless.
